How to Generate Savings for your Company by
Using BlisterScan!
Calculate how much Money your Company Loses with the Blue Dye Test:
The Blue Dye test is a huge waste of your company's money. You have
to throw away every tested pack whether or not it fails.
Just imagine - if you use the Blue Dye test on about 20 packs every
15 minutes, you will produce approximately 150,000 blisters per year.
If each pack costs more than $1 each to produce, this means your company
must be throwing away an incredible $150,000 every year. And that
is just on one blister line alone. Now multiply the $150,000 loss
by the number of blisterpacking lines you company runs to calculate
the total losses.
BUT - Imagine if you had a clean and dry test which was able to protect
the blisterpacks from any damage during testing. You could save all
of the blisterpacks which don't have leaks and put them back into
the blisterpacking line rather than throwing them away.
You would even make savings on the packs which do have leaks. Even
if the test discovers a fault in the packaging, the product inside
will still be undamaged because it has not been contaminated by liquid.
All this product can be deblistered and replaced into the hopper on
the blister line for repacking.
Multiply these savings by the number of blister lines you run and
you can quickly see how you could revolutionise blisterpacking in
your company.
You can Save Costs on your Re-work by Testing every 2 minutes…
The Blue Dye Test is only carried out every 15-minutes because it
produces so many waste blisters. Therefore, if a leak is discovered
it is entirely possible that every blister that was packed during
the 15 minute period since the last test could also be faulty. The
entire 15-minute production lot has then to be re-worked
(emptied from the blisters and re-packed). Very expensive, if you
are not using a SEPHA automatic deblistering
machine - the costs of manual deblistering just one lot per day can
be as much as $300.
With BlisterScan you can test every 2 minutes. So, even if there is
a reject, the rework quantity is much less.
Other Important Savings and Benefits:
- Unlike the Blue Dye test, the BlisterScan test can be validated,
so the results it produces are totally objective. This also means
you don't need staff with special skills to carry out the test.
- You can place the BlisterScan right beside the blisterpacker
so the blister line operators can test their blisters without
the need for extra staff.
- You don't waste valuable time in transporting blisters away
from the blisterpacking machine to be tested in the laboratory
by another method (eg Blue Dye Test) which is unreliable in any
case!
