EZ Blister II
Semi-automatic laboratory blister packing machine
EZ BLISTER II is an excellent laboratory blister packing machine. It produces small batches of all types of blister packs including:
- Thermoformed
- Cold-formed (eg alu/alu)
- Blister formats of all shapes
- All types of blister materials
Blister packs from EZ Blister are of the same high quality as those produced on high speed automatic blister lines.
EZ BLISTER II is ideal for producing small batches of high quality blister packs in:
Pharmaceutical Research and Development laboratories
- Clinical trials
- Stability studies
- Package development
- Marketing samples
Pharmaceutical production and packaging departments
Low volumes which may not normally be economic on high speed fully automatic lines can be turned around quickly on EZ Blister II, for example, EZ Blister II can be used to pack small batches of specialist drugs.
More control for R&D labs
- Bring your blister packing in-house instead of booking time on production lines or outsourcing to a third party – minimises delays, allowing your new drug product to get to market sooner
- Every day saved in the R&D lab is a day of extra profits in the marketplace
Flexible pack design
- Blister pack using a variety of materials, novel shapes, sizes or perforations - allows the full range of possibilities to be explored for pack development in the R&D lab
- Offers increased flexibility to contract packers
High quality blisters
- Reproducible, production quality packaging
- Fast & easy set-up – no specialist knowledge is required to operate EZ Blister II so there is no need for an engineer to be present
Compact, portable design
- Table top design for convenient blister packaging
Reduce R&D time
- Sepha can design your new blister packs. This is especially useful for customers who conduct clinical trials. We can advise them how to rationalise the number of different tools needed, even if the lab needs to package many different products
- Fast turnaround to tool-up for new products – 2-3 weeks for thermoform and cold-form tooling, faster than outsourcing small batches to a contract packer
More economical for batches up to 20,000 units
- Fully cGMP, so it is quick to clean – requires 5 minutes
- Fast 2 minute changeover - reduces down-time between production batches
Machine Operation:
EZ Blister II uses 3 stages of operation to make blister packs:
1. Forming
Blister pack trays are formed automatically from pre-cut pieces.
2. Sealing and Coding
The separate formed trays are sealed automatically using pre-cut lidding foil. Batch codes are also embossed at this stage. EZ Blister II can be supplied with a vacuum flushing chamber for sealing blisters under a vacuum or inert gas, if required.
3. Cutting and perforating
The operator only has to press the start button and the machine does the rest itself.
Tooling
A set of custom tooling is required for each different blister format. Sepha can assist with your blister design. Tools are slotted into tool holders. To change between forming, sealing and cutting operations, the operator simply uses the patented quick release lever. The tool-less changeover takes less than 2 minutes.
